Is This What We Can Expect At Christmas, Part 2: Dodd, Biden Events on Thanksgiving Day

The Chris Dodd and Joe Biden campaigns have pushed the holiday campaign envelope even further than the previous mark of Biden's 5:30 Wednesday event, and are having events on Thanksgiving Day itself.

From the Dodd press release:
Dodd announced today that he and his family will spend the Thanksgiving holiday in the state as well. Dodd, his wife Jackie, and their daughters Grace and Christina, will participate in holiday service activities in Des Moines and Hiawatha. They will then spend Thanksgiving Day in Monticello at the home of Paul and Kim Specht.

More than 100 family members are expected to gather in the Spechts’ barn for a true Hawkeye Thanksgiving.

Dodd also has food-bank oriented Wednesday events in Des Moines and Hiawatha.

It's not a surprise that Biden also has a Thanksgiving event, as he had Wednesday and Friday Iowa events already. The details:

Several members of the Biden family, including Sen. Biden's wife Dr. Jill Biden, his daughter Ashley, his son Hunter and daughter-in-law Kathleen as well as their children will join him in Iowa this week to spend the Thanksgiving holiday together. On Thanksgiving, the family will volunteer at the Machine Shed Restaurant, located at Living History Farms in Urbandale. This free Thanksgiving event is open to the entire Des Moines community and the benefits go towards a summer camp for underprivileged children – sponsored by the Living History Farms.

So perhaps this sets the standard: Holiday events are OK, as long as there's a charitable or holiday tie-in.

With the holiday barrier now broken, will it be possible to go to Christmas Eve church services or a Toys for Tots delivery in Iowa without tripping over a presidential candidate? Have yourself a merry little caucus.
